Boti Waterfalls

Boti Falls is a twin waterfall located at Boti in Yilo Krobo District in the Eastern Region of Ghana. These twin falls, which come from two rivers, are referred to as female and male; according to local myth, a rainbow is formed when they merge.

Boti is a seasonal falls is a double side-by-side falls during the high flow and at the bottom of 250 concrete steps. During full flow you are surrounded in a canyon of falling water. It can be found in the forest of Huhunya. The larger one is mythically believed to be the male and the smaller one the female.

Aburi Botanical Gardens

Aburi Botanical Gardens is a garden in Aburi in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Today, in the 21st century, one cannot talk about horticulture in Ghana and West Africa without talking about the Aburi Botanical Gardens. The Garden occupies an area of 64.8 hectares. It was opened in March 1890 and was founded by Governor William Brandford-Griffith and Dr. John Farrell Easmon, a Sierra Leonean medical doctor. Before the garden was established, it was the site of a sanatorium built in 1875 for Gold Coast government officials.

The Tetteh Quarshie cocoa farm

The Tetteh Quarshie cocoa farm, also known as the Ecomuseum of Cocoa, is the founding cocoa farm in Ghana. It is located in Akuapim-Mampong around 58km from Accra. Tetteh Quarshie established the farm in 1879 using seeds brought back from Bioko, Equatorial Guinea. Three trees planted by Quarshie remain at the farm. The farm is currently around one acre in size, and is managed by the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana.
